The on-ramp "Darmstädter Kreuz" of the A5/A67 offers a smooth connection to the surrounding Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz und Mannheim metropolis. It is 22 km from the airport Frankfurt via the 8 lane highway A5. The main station has connections to Stuttgart-Heidelberg-Frankfurt (via ICE) and to Mannheim-Frankfurt (via IC). |

The Martinsviertel is centrally located in the area of the Frankfurter Straße (in the West), the Rhoen-Spessartring (in the North), Dieburger Straße (in the East) and the Alexander-Zeughausstraße (in the South). In colloquial speech it is often referred to as "Watzeverdel". The Dieburgerstraße (L 3094) is important as it offers a smooth connection to Dieburg and Messel. Many commuter take the street in the mornings to go to work and in the evenings to go back home. The Alice Hospital, an important social establishment, is also located at the Dieburger Straße. Additionally to its many medical departments the Alice Hospital offers a pediatric clinic. The university of Darmstadt is partly located at the Dieburger Straße, although there the street is called Alexanderstraße. The new conference center of Darmstadt, the "Darmstadtium" can be found there as well. |
